Winter Wonderland returning Nov. 25

A gallery of beautifully-decorated Christmas
trees, along with weekly Saturday matinee performances by local music groups at
Richmond City Hall, have become a holiday tradition.
They’re both part of Winter Wonderland,
presented by the Rotary Club of Richmond Sunset, which officially kicks off
Saturday, Nov. 25.
Each Winter Wonderland tree is sponsored, and
has been decorated by local businesses, organizations or individuals. Visitors
are encouraged to make a donation and bring a non-perishable food item to
support the Richmond Food Bank. Funds from the donations will be used to
support the Rotary Club’s international and Richmond community programs. After
viewing, everyone is invited to vote for their favourite tree, which will be on
display in the galleria until Dec. 25.
The performance schedule begins Nov. 25 with
the Richmond Branch of the B.C. Registered Music Teachers’ Association from 1 to 2 p.m., followed by members of the Peggy Yip Piano Studio from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.
Additional performances are as follows:
Dec. 2—1 to 2 p.m., and 2:30 to
3:30 p.m., Tom Lee Academy and Steinway Society Young Artist Club
Dec. 9—1 to 2 p.m., Richmond Youth
Concert Band; and 2:30 to 3:30 p.m., Richmond Music School
Dec. 16—1 to 2 p.m., and 2:30 to
3:30 p.m., Emmanuel Church Music Group
Winter Wonderland is sponsored by River Green
Community and Rotary International, Making a Difference. Concord Pacific is
gold sponsor, the City of Richmond is support partner, and Tom Lee Music
sponsors the baby grand piano.
